About RERC

Founded in 1931, Real Estate Research Corporation (RERC) was the first corporation in America that dealt specifically with real estate research and analysis. Although RERC has expanded its capabilities to include a number of other services, research—in its purest form and as defined above—is the driving philosophy behind all that RERC is and does.

RERC’s ongoing relationships with many of the industry’s leading players provide RERC with unique insight into the major activities, events, and issues affecting commercial real estate. By conducting regular quarterly and specialty surveys among these players, RERC is able to offer the industry its independent view, which is so necessary in today’s investment world.

Today, more than 75 years after the firm began, research remains the predominant thread woven throughout all of RERC’s services, and we are proud to share that research with investors, funds, appraisers, and other professionals through our specialty research or our standardized research:

  • The quarterly RERC Real Estate Report offers various investment criteria including required going-in and terminal capitalization rates, pre-tax yield rates, and other data for 10 property types on a national and regional level, as well as for 48 major metropolitan markets.
  • The RERC/CCIM Investment Trends Quarterly is published in association with the CCIM Institute and sponsored by the REALTORS© Commercial Alliance, and includes transaction-based capitalization rate averages, sales volume, and average sale prices for the national market, regional markets, and 48 metropolitan markets.
  • Annual forecasts and outlook reports produced by RERC, including Expectations and Market Realities in Real Estate (2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004), RERC Industry Outlook (2003, 2002), and Emerging Trends in Real Estate (1998 - 1979).
  • The RERC DataCenter™ offers electronic access to several multi-capability levels of current and historical RERC data, quick access to key economic data, and querying and charting capabilities.
